Bletilla striata ‘Alba’ (Marginal Aquatic)

Bletilla striata is an eye-catching hardy orchid with fragrant white flowers blushed with violet that appear in late spring to early summer. Each upright stem bears up to a dozen flowers, rising above pleated, strap-shaped leaves. Spreading gradually via rhizomes, it forms larger clumps over time, bringing more blooms each year. Thriving in reliably damp soil, it’s an excellent addition to bog gardens, moisture-retentive borders or containers, combining exotic charm with ease of cultivation. Ultimate height and spread: 30cm to 50cm (12 to 20in).
