Mimulus luteus (Marginal Aquatic)
Much longer flowering than most other pond plants, Mimulus luteus is valued for its abundant flurries of dazzling yellow trumpet-shaped flowers with red or purple spots from May to August.Native to South America, this plant thrives in moist, boggy soils and is ideal for pond margins, wetland gardens, or damp borders where it freely self seeds to create spreading colonies. Its small, oval green leaves form spreading, bushy mounds that are good for softening and disguising pond edges whilst the showy flowers provide valuable food for pollinators. Water depth: 0-5cm. Ultimate height and spread: 60cm.
