Abelia x grandiflora ‘Gold Jewel’ is distinguished by its compact size and colourful foliage that adds a valuable splash of brilliant gold into the garden landscape. In spring and summer, the leaves are sunshine yellow before maturing to warm copper in autumn/winter. From June until late autumn, clusters of tubular, lightly fragrant pale pink flowers appear, attracting pollinators. This very compact, semi-evergreen shrub forms tidy, rounded mounds that are perfect for smaller gardens. It will hold onto the majority of its leaves in all but the coldest winters.
