Chilli Pepper Patio Collection comprises of: Chilli Pepper ‘Hungarian Black’ – An old heirloom variety which is visually stunning. Tall, upright plants with purple-veined foliage produce attractive purple flowers. Once pollinated the blooms are replaced by tapering peppers that ripen through red to an aubergine purple-black colour. The fruits are mild, with a superb flavour but only a slight kick. Height: 75cm (30). Spread: 45cm (18). Chilli Pepper ‘Jalapeno’ – Well known throughout the world, ‘Jalapeno’ is one of the most popular varieties. These well branched plants produce good yields of shiny, plump peppers. The fruits grow up to 7cm (3) and have a comfortable heat – hot, but not too hot! Use them green, or leave them to ripen further to scarlet red when they will have a slightly sweeter flavour. Perfect for heating up your pizza toppings or making hot sauces. Height: 90cm (36). Spread: 45cm (18). Chilli Pepper ‘Hot Lemon’ – A totally unique chili in that its flavour is as hot as a cayenne, and yet it has a distinctly tart citrus taste. This is a particularly productive chili plant, producing an abundance of 5-6cm bright yellow chilis which hang down in stunning contrast to the green foliage. Plants are of medium height – approximately 45cm – and have a branching habit. Chili Pepper Hot Lemon is best used fresh in tangy salsas, but will add a sensational taste to cooked dishes and sauces too.
