Iris pseudacorus ‘Alba’ (Marginal Aquatic)
A subtle alternative to its brasher yellow cousin, Iris pseudacorus ‘Alba’ offers creamy-white blooms with purple veined falls in May and June.This native marginal plant is perfect for pond edges and moist soils, thriving in both full sun and partial shade. Its upright, sword-like foliage adds vertical interest even when not in flower and is perfect for defining and framing the pond edge. Less vigorous and less prone to rampant self seeding than the yellow form, it suits smaller ponds and wildlife gardens, providing a valuable habitat as well as attracting pollinators. Planting depth: Zones 1, 2 & 3 to 20cm (8in) below water level. Ultimate height: 1m (3.2ft). Ultimate spread: 30cm (12in).
