Myriophyllum rubricaule (Oxygenating Aquatic)
This red-stemmed species is a non-invasive species of Parrot’s Feather that serves as an excellent oxygenator, supporting aquatic life and improving water clarity by absorbing the excess nutrients that encourage the growth of algae. Myriophyllum rubricaule forms mats of bright red stems and feathery whorls of green foliage that grow above and below the water surface, providing shelter for fish and other pond inhabitants. From June to August, it may produce tiny yellow flowers at the leaf axils above the water surface. Its non-invasive nature makes it a good choice for smaller ponds. Ultimate height: 20cm (8in). Ultimate spread: 30cm (12in).
