Nandina ‘Summer Sunset’
This evergreen shrub has a compact, upright habit and will provide year round, multi-coloured interest in the garden. Nandina ‘Summer Sunset’ produces sprays of fine, pointed leaves that give it an airy feel. Fresh foliage emerges deep red in spring and transforms to vibrant shades of purple, red and orange before finally maturing to green. The old leaves remain on the plant meaning the plant will offer multiple colour stages at one time, creating a multi-coloured display that contrasts perfectly. In July, long stems produce dainty clusters of white blooms which add additional seasonal interest. A low maintenance variety that is perfect for patio pots and sunny borders where it will show good drought tolerance once established. Height and spread: 1.5m (4.9ft).
