Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Tiny Wine Gold’
This compact Physocarpus offers brilliant foliage colour for the smallest spaces and gardeners restricted to container-growing. New leaves emerge with a warm orange tint in spring and mature to yellow gold. In early summer, clusters of pinkish white flowers that are attractive to pollinators are followed by red berries in late summer. A great choice for adding all-season interest, working well as a stand-alone accent plant or as a colourful backdrop to summer flowers. The small, maple-like leaves add to its appeal, offering fine foliage texture to contrast with bolder leaved shrubs. Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Tiny Wine Gold’ is an unfussy shrub which remains a manageable size and is drought resistant.
