Pomegranate ‘Uniqa’
The smallest variety of pomegranante, Punica granatum ‘Uniqa’ brings Mediterranean flair to the tiniest spaces offering a long season of vibrant flowers and attractive fruits in a surprisingly hardy shrub. Bright orange flowers burst from funnel-shaped buds all summer against a backdrop of small, glossy green leaves. The flowers are followed by inedible but highly ornamental miniature fruits that extend interest into autumn. With a compact, rounded habit, Punica granatum ‘Uniqa’ is ideal for patio pots or dotting through rockeries and gravel gardens. This petite variety is remarkably hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -8 ºC. Ultimate height and spread: 40cm (16in).
