Ranunculus lingua (Marginal Aquatic)

Large golden buttercups float on long stems, shining in the sun and luring pollinators.Ranunculus lingua is a British native that forms clumps of lance-shaped green leaves in pond margins and boggy ground. Its lush foliage provides habitats for pond life above and below the water, making it ideal for wildlife ponds and naturalistic water gardens. Its bowl-shaped, glossy yellow flowers appear through June and July, with tall stems reaching up to 1m (4.9ft) adding height to the pond landscape. Ranunculus lingua spreads vigorously by rhizomes and makes a good choice for larger wildlife ponds. Water depth: 0-30cm. Ultimate height and spread: 60cm to 1m (24in to 3.2ft).
