Viola sororia ‘Rubra’
A low-growing perennial which provides superb evergreen groundcover. Viola sororia ?Rubra? boasts wine-purple blooms during spring which appear above heart-like, green foliage. A very low maintenance variety which is ideal for woodland gardens as well as planting beneath roses and shrubs amongst spring bulbs. Very effective planted in drifts and will swiftly spread about and naturalise in moist, well drained soils. Height: 15cm (6in). Spread: 20cm (8in). Viola labradorica flowers are edible and make a great garnish to salads, cakes and desserts.
