Peony Collection
This collection of RHS award-winning peonies is the epitome of garden glitz! The robust stems hold up well against the weather and provide good, long-lasting specimens for cut flower displays, not only for their beauty but also for their durable stature. The flowers are all anemone-style peonies, with huge, aromatic bowls holding ruffled petaloids in the centre. The Peony Collection includes: 1. Peony ‘Bowl of Beauty’ – This exceptional, early to midsummer flowering variety has gigantic, anemone-like, aromatic blooms up to 20cm across. Huge pink petals form a massive bowl that is surrounded by a creamy ruff of smaller, ribbon-like petals. Height: 100cm (40). Spread: 80cm (32). 2. Peony ‘Jan van Leeuwen’ – This mid-season peony received an RHS Award of Garden Merit and won Best in Show at Chelsea. It is a timeless classic from 1928. White outer petals form finely cut bowls that encase golden petaloids. Height: 60cm (24). Spread: 75cm (30). 3. Peony ‘Doreen’ – This Winner of the RHS AGM variety has lightly scented blooms. These blooms consist of layers of vibrant, rosy-pink petals encircling a noteworthy pompon of frilly yellow stamens. Height: 90cm (36). Spread: 50cm (20).
