Myosotis palustris (Marginal Aquatic)
Myosotis palustris, commonly known as water forget-me-not, is a pretty UK native that brings a haze of soft blue to pond margins and damp borders. From June to September, it produces clusters of delicate, sky-blue flowers with yellow centres, freely self-seedling along muddy pond margins and scrambling through other plants to create a naturalistic look. Thriving in moist soil or shallow water up to 10cm deep, it forms low-growing, clump-forming mats that soften pond edges and provide valuable habitat for aquatic wildlife. The flowers lure a variety of pollinating insects. This hardy plant is easy to grow in full sun or partial shade and is ideal for wildlife-friendly gardens. Water depth: 0-10cm. Height: 30cm (12in). Spread: 120cm (48in).
