Cladrastis kentukea
Cladrastis kentukea is a striking deciduous tree with smooth grey bark and a graceful, spreading, vase-shaped form. In late spring and early summer, mature trees produce cascading clusters of scented white flowers, followed by decorative seed pods lasting into winter. Its pinnate foliage shifts from pale green to golden yellow and copper in autumn. Thriving in sun or light shade and a variety of soils, it’s ideal as a feature tree, offering year-round interest. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Ultimate height: 8-12m (26.2 – 39ft). Spread: 8m + (26.2ft).
