Pontederia cordata ‘Pink Pons’ (Marginal Aquatic)

Pontederia cordata ‘Pink Pons’ is a showy pond plant with striking flowers and foliage and a more compact form than the species.Whilst most aquatic perennials flower early in the season, Pontederia cordata ‘Pink Pons’ flowers from summer and well into autumn, offering valuable late season interest to the water garden and a late source of food for pollinators. Upright spikes of lilac-pink flowers are accompanied by handsome, heart-shaped leaves that rise boldly on long stalks above the water’s surface. Slow growing and reasonably compact, Pontederia cordata ‘Pink Pons’ makes an impressive choice for the smaller pond. Water depth: 10-20cm. Ultimate height: 60-70cm (24 to 27in) ). Ultimate spread: 40cm (16in).
