Carex muskingumensis (Marginal Aquatic)
Carex muskingumensis is a clump-forming semi-evergreen sedge with bright green, leaves that fan out in arching sprays in palm-like fashion. From May to July it is topped with golden brown flowers on tall stems.Low-maintenance and hardy, Carex muskingumensis slowly spreads via rhizomes, forming dense colonies that offer excellent ground cover and habitat for wildlife. A native of swamps and damp meadows, it grows in reliably moist soils to shallow water and is perfect for bog gardens or pond margins offering graceful texture and architectural presence whilst softening the transition from water to land. A valuable addition to both naturalistic and formal garden designs. Ultimate height and spread: 1m (3.2ft).
